I hope you all had a fun filled and safe New Years celebration and started 2016 in the best way possible! As they say, a clean slate, a new chapter and all those cliché comments that run around my mind for the whole month of January (as well as the fitness tips and healthy eating regimes which will most likely be plastered over magazines starting today...)
I thought I would go back to my roots and write a little re cap post of what I did over the two weeks off. This is more like a talking to myself post, where I will hopefully look back in a years time to reminisce - damn you nostalgia!
Pre Christmas
To get into the mood a bit more, we decided to put up our Christmas tree. Fairly late to put it up, but I'm not a huge fan of having things lay around for too long, especially past their 'sell by date'. This required christmas jumpers, cheesy music and a glass of Bailey's!
Anyways, we expected the show to go through the different Christmas' over the years, with a few songs here and there in true Horrible Histories fashion. In some sense it did exactly that, but it had more of a storyline behind it to follow and get involved with for the kids! It wasn't what we expected at all, however it was quite enjoyable to watch and had a pantomime feel throughout the whole show! It would probably be a lot more fun if I were younger however!
Christmas Day!
We went to my cousins house and spent the afternoon there - an tradition which sadly hadn't been done for a while! I sadly didn't get a close up of my makeup this year like last, but I did a dark smokey eye with neutral and warm browns with a flick of eyeliner, fake lashes and a purple lip. My dress was from a pop up shop that opened in my town called Madisons & Co. It was that velvety material with a sort of halter top half - paired with my platform heels, leather jacket and black tights! (Once again I was taller than mum and nearly as tall as my brother!)
It was a lovely day with my wonderful family, we were well fed with a gorgeous Christmas Dinner (courtesy of my auntie), given enough to drink and even had a highly hilarious family quiz (and the best team won!;))
New Years Eve
The band playing (The Interval Act) were extremely impressive, since I haven't seen one of their gigs before I was excited to see them perform and I wasn't disappointed! The pub had brought in old friends from school and old family friends too, it was a lovely evening and an unplanned one too!
I wish you all a happy new year and lets make 2016 a good one!
See you in the next blog post,
