Its the final post of my London adventures over the winter holidays! This one was the most terrifying of all for me but now that I look back I'm so glad that I done it! So another Christmas present for my dad (from me this time) was to go on the cable cars in London at the O2.
I thought it would be a great idea - see some sites, experience London from above and all that. So we arrived before our 2pm slot and we were greeted by this:
To me it didn't look to bad and it looked like so much fun! So I was really looking forward to it but then my dad literally went a shade of white.. I completely forgot he hated heights (surely I should've remembered from his fear of flights?) But I still said to him that we should go do it, we've paid for it yatta yatta. So we picked up our "flight tickets" and started to que |
And then we boarded and we were off. The cars start on an incline then goes straight across over the Thames and then declines and goes back round again. The incline was fine with me - but dad was petrified even more (bless him.) Once we completed the incline we began to go over the Thames. This is where I started to worry about how high we actually were - again I think it was the old fear of the water below us! What also didn't help is that the Snowman and the Snowdog was playing throughout the car and it just made us more nervous! |
So yes it was a good experience, especially if its good weather & you don't mind heights! After being on the cars we also got to go to the museum next door, where you learn to be a pilot and you get to sit in a plane simulator thing - wasn't the most exciting thing but it was the experience that matters;)
