Hi everyone! Todays beauty blog post will be about hair! At the moment, I've been trying my best to avoid using ANY heat on my hair since I've had all my split ends chopped off. However, I was getting sick and tired of wearing plaits and having crimped hair all the time so I've be trying and testing heatless ways of styling my hair. This is one of the overnight styles which I think really work and the curls look like you've just done them with a curling wand!
Lets get into the tutorial!

Lets get into the tutorial!
EQUIPMENT:
- Hairspray
- Hairgrips (if needed)
- Hair mousse
- Brush
1) Okay, so firstly I took my hair out of my ponytail. If your hair has been in a style all day take out all hair grips, bands or accessories and ensure your hair is empty of any items!
2) Then brush your hair though with your chosen hairbrush or comb. I'm using a wide tooth comb as it prevents your hair falling out when brushing through as nothing is pulling the hair from their roots. The tangles still all come out, but not as much hair does as it would with a Tangle Teezer or a paddle brush.
3) This step is optional. I take 3 drops of coconut oil and brush it through roots to ends with my fingers. I use the oil as my hair doesn't get greasy/oily which means hairstyles such as curling won't stay in during the whole process. This oil adds moisture to my hair making the curls able to set properly if I had oily type hair!
4) Grab an elastic headband. If you don't have one that's fine! You can either make one out of a pair of old tights or use a bandana which is what I'm using! If you're using a bandana, fold it in half and half again so it looks the same size of an elastic head band.
5) Section your hair to a middle parting from your front hairline straight through to the back. Then place on the headband/bandana around your head
6) Heres the confusing bit… I'll try and split it into 3 sections:
- Take 1/2 inch piece of hair
- Pull away from head
- Pull upwards close to the headband
- Wrap the 1/2 inch section around the headband (it should look something like the final image)
PS I've blurred out my face as I looked like a 4 year old!

After wrapping the first 1/2 inch section of hair, collect another piece from the same side and place it in the section you just wrapped.
TOP TIP: you will be able to see what piece of hair has been wrapped as it will be shorter than the rest of your hair!

7) Now when you have done both sides, if you have long hair you will get these little piece of hair at the back of your hair. All you need to do it tuck them into the back, they'll curl round the headband like the rest of the hair!
8) Hairspray and/or add in mousse onto the wrapped curls. Now you're ready to go to bed! I done these at half past nine at night then took them out 10 hours later.
9) Wake up! Time to take curls out! All you need to lift the band up and the hair will drop out the of the band.
And heres the final result!
So that is how I do my overnight curls! It's a great method and it also adds lots of volume to my hair when I take the bandana out. I personally think they look like the result I would have if I had used a curling wand.
I hope this has helped you, let me know if it works for you too!
